The GUSTO ITALIANO MARKET Pizza OveN’S History
Dear customers,
As you probably know on May 20th we open our Gusto Italiano Market, offering Italian products and grab and go food coming from our restaurant Real Gusto in Medford, MA.
This was supposed to be a soft opening waiting for our pizza oven to arrive from Italy and be installed in a short time.
We probably underestimate what a long pandemic could cause to our business… long delays in deliveries, lack of materials and a huge need of manpower.
The pizza oven arrived at the US customs in NYC at the end of March and they broke it trying to move it from the container. We were very disappointed but we thought that, sometimes, this kind of things can happen so we decided to order a second oven from the same company, Valoriani, in Florence.
It is hard to express what we felt when we were told at the beginning of June that the second oven had been broken as well! We were completely in shock, we could not believe that our 2 beautiful ovens had been destroyed!
In the meantime the store was already open and people had started asking about the pizzas… we decided not to lose faith and we were able to find a Neapolitan oven in a warehouse in New York that was just waiting for us!!
That is an Acunto oven, a very important brand for pizza ovens in Italy.
Finally the new oven has arrived at the store and now we are up and running.
We’d like to thank all the customers that during these first 2 months have constantly called, passed by and wrote emails to have updates about the oven. We feel your affection and we are really happy to offer you our delicious pizzas!!
